Squatter Deterrents at Commercial Property – Cheshire

The Brief:

Our client, a well-known hotel chain, contacted us to secure a vacant site in Knutsford. Some areas of the hotel and adjoining pub-restaurant had already been secured but equipment from the property had since gone missing and the customer suspected someone may have gained access and was unlawfully squatting at the property.

 

The Solution:

One of our security specialists attended site to secure an alarm system with passive infra-red (PIR) motion detection. As with all of our installations, the alarm system was carefully tested prior to commissioning to ensure it was fully operational and that the PIRs were capturing any movement. The system was originally supplied for a temporary hire period of six weeks.

The Outcome:

It took half a day for our engineer to install and commission the alarm system. Since the installation, the alarm has been triggered on a few occasions so the client has requested a longer hire period. They have also appointed a designated key holder to directly receive any alarm notifications so that they can quickly attend site to see if anyone has gained unauthorised entry to the property.
