Large Vacant Property & Perforated Steel Sheeting Quality Comparison

timber boarding on covering window on vacant property
vacant property before steel sheeting installed

The Brief:

We were instructed to sheet over all openings and provide two Steel Security doors for a large vacant property on the outskirts of Greenwich. For the majority of openings, the client requested that we sheet over the previous installation where applicable, as the standard in quality of the sheet was in a state of disrepute. In this case study we demonstrate the difference in quality of the sheets that we use ahead of the competition.

Our Solution:

Our perforated steel sheets were used to cover the openings and re-secure broken glass and sheeting that had been vandalised. There were also timber boards used previously of which we were asked to sheet over, shown in the photos. The doors and sheets were all installed in one day, with 27 sheets used across two buildings, ground floor and first floor. Our sheets are 1.1mm thick with 8mm round holes; these replaced sheets with 12mm approx. square holes with 0.9mm approx. thickness in sheet that seemed more susceptible to rust within a prolonged time period.

Our client was very impressed with the difference in quality of the sheeting and has since requested quotations for two further properties.
